Silva Praise from Boss

City boss Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Bernardo Silva after his standout performance in the crucial last-minute victory against Aston Villa last night.

City boss Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Bernardo Silva after his standout performance in the crucial last-minute victory against Aston Villa last night.

The Portuguese midfielder opened the scoring at the Etihad Stadium just seven minutes into the match, finishing from an Omar Marmoush cutback that deflected off Ezri Konsa.

Marcus Rashford equalized for Aston Villa, but a stoppage-time winner from Matheus Nunes secured all three points for City. This victory places City in third place, four points ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea in the race for Champions League qualification. After the match, Guardiola commended Silva, stating that the 30-year-old was "always there," even during a challenging mid-season stretch when the team lost six out of eight Premier League games, including four consecutively.

"Bernardo, what he has done for us this season… I won’t forget! I won’t forget November, December, January, February, and March when we didn’t win a single game, and he was there every single time," the City boss added.
