Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has admitted his side are battling “a lot of concerns” with injuries ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday.
Nuno confirmed that late fitness checks will be needed for both Ola Aina and Alex Moreno, with several other players also carrying knocks from recent matches.
“We’re assessing players day by day,” Nuno said when asked about his squad. “A lot of concerns. We have players coming back that we still need to evaluate.”
On Aina’s chances of making the match, he added: “It’s one of the cases. Yes. We still have [Saturday] to go — let’s see.” He also confirmed Moreno is in a similar situation, as Forest carefully monitor their squad ahead of the huge occasion.
Forest will definitely be without Ryan Yates and Neco Williams, who are suspended for the semi-final. However, Nuno said both players will still travel with the team to Wembley.
“They can do whatever they can to help,” Nuno said. “It’s going to be a moment where we’re all together. Unfortunately, we can’t count on them on the pitch, but they’ll give us a hand off it.”
